Oud is not a product.
It is a presence.
The story of why we founded Wujud Oud, what we believe about authenticity, and what drives us to hold a standard that most are unwilling to keep.
"Wujud" — وجود — means existence, presence, and being in Arabic. It is the quality of being genuinely, undeniably real. Not a copy. Not an approximation. The thing itself. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the standard we demand of every product we offer.
The Question
It began with a question that anyone who loves oud has asked at least once: what happened to the real thing?
The GCC market is extraordinary in its appetite for oud. Saudi Arabia alone accounts for a significant share of the world's agarwood consumption. And yet, for all that demand, the shelves are filled with products that approximate the scent of oud — blended with synthetics, padded with fillers, processed beyond recognition.
We asked the question. Then we decided to do something about it.

The Standard
Wujud Oud was founded in Riyadh on a single, non-negotiable principle: we will only offer products that are genuinely what they claim to be.
No synthetic fragrance. No charcoal. No fillers. No chemical binders. No approximations.
This sounds obvious. In practice, it is rare. It requires working with producers who share the same commitment — who understand that the customer burning our oud in their home deserves the real experience of the wood, not a manufactured imitation of it.

The Source
Authentic agarwood comes from Aquilaria trees — most notably Aquilaria crassna and Aquilaria malaccensis — found in Vietnam, Indonesia, and across Southeast Asia. The resin that forms within the heartwood when the tree responds to stress is what gives oud its extraordinary complexity.
We work with plantation-certified sources. Every product we carry is traceable to its origin, documented, and evaluated before it reaches our customers. We know where our oud comes from. That is not a marketing claim — it is a condition of doing business.

The majlis deserves more than the memory of oud. It deserves oud itself.
Every product we offer
carries this commitment.
What you smell is what it is
No synthetic fragrance has been added to approximate the scent of oud. What you experience is the natural aroma of the wood itself.
What it says is what it contains
When we describe agarwood content, we mean it. We do not blend down with sawdust, charcoal, or chemical fillers and call it premium.
Where it comes from, we know
Every product is traceable to a plantation-certified source. We know the origin. We have the documentation. We are happy to share it.
